Waxing FAQ’s
How long does my hair have to be before waxing?
Hair needs to be at least ¼ inch long in order to achieve a successful result. After shaving, you should wait 2 weeks before waxing. After waxing, you should wait 4 weeks before your next waxing session.
How long does it last?
Depending on individual hair growth, waxing should last 3-4 weeks.
What do I need to do to prepare?
You should shower and exfoliate your skin before waxing. If hair is more than 1 ½ inches long, you should consider trimming it with scissors to about ½ inch long to make hair removal more comfortable. Discontinue use of retinol products or any other prescription skincare products 1 week before waxing.
What do I need to do after?
To treat skin after waxing we suggest using a soothing cream or gel (ie. aloe or tea tree). To avoid ingrown hairs, we recommend an anti-ingrown solution be used daily. Ask your esthetician for a recommendation. After waxing you should avoid vigorous activity, sun exposure, and extreme heat for 24 hours. Sun protection should always be worn after waxing.
